Tra i profili internazionali attenzionati dal ds Marco Ausilio e dagli osservatori nerazzurri c'è anche quello del laterale di proprietà dell'Hertha Berlino Mitchell Weiser, uno dei giovani di maggior talento espressi recentemente dal calcio tedesco. Classe 1994, è cresciuto nel settore giovanile del Bayern Monaco (anche se calcisticamente nasce nel Colonia) e nella scorsa stagione ha trovato spazio agli ordini di Guardiola, disputando complessivamente 23 partite, con un gol ed un assist all'attivo. Nasce come centrocampista esterno dalla grande propensione offensiva, ma la sua facilità di corsa unità ad una grande duttilità ne hanno fatto un terzino di spinta in grado di garantire una buona attenzione in fase difensiva.
